A Century of Education
A new book published by the College of Education chronicles the education program's growth from department to school and eventually into one of Lehigh's four colleges.
The College of Education celebrated a century of education at Lehigh, 50 years as a College and 50 years of the highly regarded Centennial School with the publication of 100 Years of Excellence.
The 158-page book chronicles the education program's growth from department to school and eventually into one of Lehigh's four colleges. It also tells the story of Centennial School, which serves children with disabilities.
"Our determination to provide leadership in the area of education and human services has never been stronger than it is today. We continue to be at the cutting edge of research in the social sciences."
—Gary Sasso, dean of the College of Education
In 2001, U.S. News and World Report named Lehigh to the top 50 graduate colleges of education, and it has been consistently recognized ever since then, according to Professor Emeritus Robert L. Leight, who was instrumental in producing the book.
