10.21.22: Our Future, Our Lehigh Strategic Planning Update

Campus engagement continues at large and small scale events

Story by

On Friday, October 14th, the four working groups met with department chairs and the faculty senate. During the session, each working group provided a brief overview of progress and engagement to-date, followed by Q&A.

During the week of October 17-21, Provost Urban and the Office of Strategic Planning and Initiatives hosted five targeted sessions–newly hired faculty within the last 3 to 4 years; new faculty hired in 2022; new staff hired in 2022; employees who have children enrolled at Lehigh; and recently promoted faculty. Participants brought their unique perspectives and ideas forward through their lens.

On Tuesday, October 18th, the Education With Purpose working group hosted an open session on “Grades, what are they good for, and why do we need grades at all?” Close to 60 students, faculty and staff participated.

As a reminder, mark your calendars for November 16, 2022 - 3:30 to 5:00 pm - at Mountaintop (Wood Dining Hall) for an important Campus Conversation–formal invitation to follow.

Continue to check the events calendar for upcoming Our Future, Our Lehigh strategic planning engagement sessions, and please continue to contribute your thoughtful ideas on Lehigh’s Idea Portal.
