“Wireless Day” to feature presentations, poster sessions

Nine professors from the engineering college will discuss their research at the daylong event in the Rauch Business Center.

The event, sponsored by Lehigh, begins with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Mohamed El-Aasser, dean of the engineering college, will deliver opening remarks at 9 a.m.
Rick Blum, the Robert W. Wieseman Chair in Electrical Engineering and director of Lehigh’s Signal Processing and Communication Research Lab, will give an introduction at 9:15 a.m.
Presentations will be held in rooms 291, 292 and 293 of Rauch. Speakers and their topics include:
• Shalinee Kishore, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering (ECE), 9:45 a.m., “Multitier Wireless Networks and Related Research Issues.”
• Tiffany Jing Li, assistant professor of ECE, 10 a.m., “Wireless Fading Channels with Non-coherent Detection: To Perform LDPC Coding or Not?”
• Zhiyuan Yan, assistant professor of ECE, 10:15 a.m., “Geometrical Uniformity of Space-Time Codes.”
• Eugene Perevalov, assistant professor of industrial and systems engineering, 10:30 a.m., “Sensor Network Efficiency and Self-organization.”
• Brian Davison, assistant professor of computer science and engineering (CSE), 10:45 a.m., “Application-Layer Networking.”
• Liang Cheng, assistant professor of CSE, 11 a.m., “LONGLAB Researches on Wireless LAN, Ad hoc, and Sensor Networks.”
• James Hwang, professor of ECE and director of the Compound Semiconductor Lab, 11:15 a.m., “Wireless Transceiver Design and Implementation.”
• Hank Korth, P.C. Rossin Senior Professor and chair of CSE, 11:30 a.m., “Nomadic Computing and Location-Dependent Data.”
• Blum, 11:45 a.m., “MIMO and Space-Time Coding for Wireless Communications.”
Lunch is from noon to 1:30 p.m. A poster session, demonstrations, and informal lab visits will be held from noon to 4 p.m.
