A Message from the President and Board Chair on Orlando tragedy

Dear Members of the Lehigh Community,

The senseless and horrific violence that occurred in Orlando is an assault on our shared values of inclusion, respect and freedom and a call to stand together against bigotry and hatred.

In this time of unspeakable grief, we extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of those who have died and our heartfelt wishes for speedy recovery for those who have been injured.  We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and with the millions of peaceful members of the Muslim community.

Anyone seeking support or counseling can contact Counseling and Psychological Services in Johnson Hall at Ext. 8-3880.

In the face of this senseless violence, it is imperative that we reaffirm our shared values and act individually and as a university community to do all we can to foster peace in our world.

Sincerely,

John D. Simon, President

Brad Eric Scheler, Chair, Board of Trustees
