Lehigh University Merit Recipient Travel Reimbursement FAQs

Congratulations on your offer of admission to Lehigh and your merit scholarship! The Office of Admissions is excited to help you get to know more about Lehigh through a variety of on-campus and virtual events. We know how important experiencing campus in person can be, which is why we are offering reimbursement to assist with lodging and travel costs to campus for eligible admitted students. This offer is by invitation only to select students, and is not transferable. Students who are eligible for this travel reimbursement have received notification by email.

In order to receive your reimbursement, your visit to campus must occur after you received your admissions decision and prior to May 1, 2022. To confirm your visit to campus, check in at the Admissions Office lobby when you arrive on weekdays or fill out a visit card found in front of the Alumni Memorial Building on weekends.

While admitted students can visit at any time prior to May 1, 2022, we encourage you to join us for Lehigh Fest on Saturday, April 9. This program is specific to your college of admission and includes attendance at a mock class, sessions on academic opportunities like global and research opportunities, and a look at student life experiences on campus. If you can’t attend Lehigh Fest, learn more about when other Admitted Student tours and sessions are scheduled here.

Traveling to Lehigh: Airports and Transportation

There are three airports that serve the Lehigh Valley area:

1. Lehigh Valley International Airport (Allentown ABE)

This is the closest airport to Lehigh University and only a 10 minute drive to campus. You can take a ride share (Uber or Lyft) to campus. We suggest flying into this airport for convenience.

2. Newark International Airport is approx. one hour 30 mins away from Bethlehem, PA by bus or car.

Trans-Bridge Lines operates bus services from Newark Airport to the Bethlehem Transportation Center. This is the closest bus stop to Lehigh’s campus, and is found at 635 Guetter Street, off of West Broad St. View the bus stop location on Google Maps. Cost is approximately $40 one way. The Bethlehem Transportation Center bus stop is 1.7 miles from campus and we suggest taking a ride share from the bus stop to get to campus. If you prefer renting a car to Lehigh, there are several rental car companies at the airport.

3. Philadelphia International Airport is approximately one hour 30 minutes drive from Bethlehem. There is no direct bus transportation from the airport and we would suggest renting a car if flying into this airport.
