Joint Global Studies and Modern Languages & Literatures Program Overview

If you are ready to bridge the gap between cultural understanding and global action, the joint major in global studies and modern languages & literatures offers a practical path to international expertise. This interdisciplinary program combines the rigorous social science of the global studies program with advanced linguistic and cultural fluency from the department of modern languages and literatures. You will master a primary language—choosing from options such as Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian or Spanish—while analyzing the complex political, economic and social forces shaping our world.
