A Spirit Week Tradition: Bed Races
The bed races, in which students teams race modified beds down Library Drive, are an annual highlight of Lehigh's Spirit Week.
It just wouldn't be Spirit Week without bed races.
In what has become one of Lehigh's most treasured (and, certainly, most unique) traditions, students gather on Library Drive one night during Spirit Week to race their modfied beds through campus.
The annual event was previously held during Greek Week, but was eventually moved to Spirit Week--Lehigh's annual celebration of its historic football rivalry against Lafayette. The two schools will play the 150th game in their series this Saturday at Yankee Stadium in New York city.
Lehigh visual storyteller Stephanie Veto attended this year's bed races and captured the excitement that makes it one of the highlights of the year on campus.
