Resources for Students

A message sent to Lehigh students.

Dear Undergraduate and Graduate Students,

I am writing in follow-up to President Helble’s message regarding the deeply sad news regarding Daniel. If you are struggling to process your thoughts or emotions, know that you are not alone and there are people at Lehigh who are here to support you:

  • The University Counseling and Psychological Services (UCPS) office, located in Johnson Hall, can be reached at 610-758-3880.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students also may speak with a licensed clinical professional through My SSP, which is available remotely 24/7 in multiple languages.
  • The Chaplain’s Office offers pastoral care and spiritual guidance. You can contact them at (610) 758-3877.
  • If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress, reach out 24/7 to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988 or using chat services at suicidepreventionlifeline.org to connect to a trained crisis counselor.

It is okay to ask for help. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help from these resources, or from close members of our community, and your friends and loved ones. Check in with yourself often and be sure to prioritize your well-being.

As we grieve, please keep Daniel’s family, friends and loved ones in your heart. Our student affairs team is in contact with his family and will help facilitate any observances that might involve our community.

My thoughts and support are with those close to Daniel, and to everyone in the Lehigh community.

Sincerely,

Ricardo Hall
Vice President for Student Affairs
