Dear Members of the Campus Community and Lehigh Families,
Yesterday, students received information regarding next week’s planned surveillance testing and voluntary exit testing before the break. Please remember to follow the recommended health and safety guidelines, such as wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing, to be extra vigilant in the days and weeks leading up to the scheduled break and holidays, and to be especially mindful during your visits with your families and friends over the Thanksgiving break.
We wanted to make all community members aware of two additional updates.
Dining- As activity at the libraries has resumed, the Grind@FML will reopen with continued safety restrictions in place beginning Tuesday, November 10. Students are welcome to “grab and go” food to eat outside with friends (following social distancing guidelines) or to eat at the tables with plexiglass shields inside. Additional information will be provided via the Dining website and social media.
Athletics and Recreation- As you know, activity has resumed at Taylor Gym, with additional safety protocols in place such as time restrictions on workouts and capacity limits.
In response to clusters of COVID-19 cases and close contacts specifically within athletics teams several weeks ago, all athletics practices and activity up until this point had been temporarily suspended. These mitigation efforts were successful and we have not seen a resurgence of new infections. Teams will be permitted to resume practices and activity with additional safety measures in place, including increased and rigorous testing protocols that align with the guidelines set forth by the NCAA for sports engaged in intercollegiate competition. Athletics will provide further information to student-athletes as to how these plans are implemented.
Gatherings- The five-person limit on gatherings will remain in effect.
We will continue to carefully monitor the results of ongoing COVID-19 testing and will keep the community informed of any further adjustments. We encourage all to be vigilant and to hold each other accountable as we conclude the final home stretch of our time together on campus this fall. As a reminder, all instruction, including exams, taking place after Thanksgiving will conclude remotely.
