10.19.20: Identifying and Helping Students of Concern

A message sent to faculty and instructional staff

Dear Faculty and Instructional Staff:

Many at Lehigh have identified an uptick in students struggling in various ways be it academically, socially, or emotionally. Although many faculty and instructional staff have some experience and familiarity with student supports at Lehigh, many more of you are hearing from students in distress under the unprecedented circumstances we are all experiencing. Here are two resources from University Counseling and Psychological Services. The first is aimed at faculty and instructional staff encountering students who seem to be struggling and the second is geared at students so faculty and instructional staff can be familiar with the process for students who reach out for counseling. You can also reach out to the staff at University Counseling & Psychological Services (UCPS) who can provide more individualized guidance and support to you. Contact information and hours of operation are contained in the first and second documents.

Sincerely,

Nathan Urban
